The C5-03, Nokia's newest handset is ready to hit the stores at the market’s lower end of smart phones. Whilst one of the cheaper options, the C5-03 does offer good value, although some other competitors at this price range do offer strong alternatives.

A light phone, the C5-03 weighs only 93 grams, which is perhaps due to the plastic casing, a material choice that does give a cheap, budget phone feel to the handset. The appearance and feel of the phone is a comfortable one thanks to its rounded corners and slim casing, and it even has an interchangeable bottom section for those who fancy a change from time to time. The 3.2 inch touchscreen also offers a good visual display for viewing media and browsing the internet.

The operating system still remains as the Symbian OS, version 9.4, which many do feel is becoming an out of date system, this doesn't quite suit a fully fledged touchscreen phone (the previous C5 used a keypad). This system does cause delay when using the phone, and it is perhaps telling that the Nokia have now joined forces with Microsoft for their operating systems.

Another frustrating aspect of the phone is the touchscreen technology. The C5-03 uses the cheaper option of a resistive screen, meaning that despite being touch operative, it does require pressure for navigation. This means that the well known pinch and scrolling features of other handsets are completely out of question, and leads to a difficult web browsing experience.

That said, the phone does have a good range of features, including excellent connectivity options including Wi-Fi, bluetooth and GPS with a high speed transfer capacity and Ovi maps, which offers satellite navigation.
